Wyoming County Community Action seeking new Housing Director

Michael Weiss, current Housing Program Leader, will be retiring at the end of this year. Wyoming County Community Action would like to sincerely thank him for his dedicated service and all he did for the people in this community through these past 20 years with the agency. With Michael’s retirement we will be recruiting to fill the position of Housing Director.

This position will be responsible for the overall supervision and administration of the agency’s housing and property management programs, agency safety programs and building maintenance. Supervise housing and property management staff as assigned and ensure compliance with various funding sources. Work with contractors and secure and maintain grants and funding sources related to housing rehab and rural affordable housing programs.

Other responsibilities will include: coordinate the various agencies’ housing initiatives in collaboration with management and state and local representatives, Coordinate the family supportive housing activities with other divisions of the agency, Establish and maintain relationships with funding sources, community leaders, other housing organizations as necessary. Research, plan and coordinate the growth and future development of housing initiatives for the agency in the region we serve, Work with team to prepare and submit all appropriate reports, Work with finance department to prepare annual budget for approval incorporating all housing funding sources, Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations as they relate to a safe work environment, ADA and OSHA regulations, Oversee maintenance of properties building and grounds offering hands-on experience, bidding jobs and securing contractors , Ensure agency compliance with state and federally funded housing/energy related/weatherization programs including NYSERDA, BPI Certifications, and Section 8, Oversee 9 supportive homes and address issues as needed relative to non-compliance with lease or rent in arrears, Plan and structure new and diversified methods to generate division income beyond present funding sources, Oversee 19-unit PRAC Senior Housing Complex and 42-unit Affordable Housing Tax-Credit Complex. Act as the Fair Housing Officer for Wyoming County.

6 - 10 years of previous experience required. Relevant certifications preferred.
